After having a discussion with a peer, I was curious to see if there was enough information on the "hallucinogen" (thujone), and other chemical compositions in the beverage absinthe to do the paper on. After a preliminary search for journal articles in the ACS data base, there is an abundant amount of information out there. Would this be able to be a topic for the paper? [That would be a fantastic topic! There is currently a debate about whether or not thujone is active - getting in touch with some people on FriendFeed would make sense http://friendfeed.com/search?q=thujone David Bradley wrote an interesting piece on this recently JCB]

Wouldn't polydentate ligands be a bit too broad? [I was thinking polydentate thioether JCB]
I preformed a Scifinder search on polydentate and close to 2000 article hits came up. Would a more appropriate topic search be [tetradentate, ruthenium] that way it would narrow the search to a more common area of research? I would like to focus more on ruthenium chemistry. September 25th, 2009
Possible Paper topics:
Tetradentate thioether ligands and metal complexes [This might be too narrow - I would suggest using "polydentate" keyword as well on SciFinder JCB]
